Leaving a company does not automatically remove every reference to your role. First separate a factual mistake from an accurate historical record, then identify who controls each listing and what request is appropriate.
Check what the listing actually says
Does it present your role as current, or does it accurately describe a past appointment? Note the relevant dates and any company identifiers. An outdated current-role label and a correct historical entry raise different questions.
Distinguish directories from official registers
A private directory and an official company register may have different responsibilities and disclosure requirements. The existence of data in a public register does not settle every question about reuse, but mandatory recordkeeping may limit what can be removed.
Document the mismatch
Keep the exact URL and a concise explanation of what is incorrect or excessive. Use only the evidence needed to establish the point. Do not post your assessment or identity documents in a public forum.
Choose the next step
A correction request may be more suitable than erasure if the core record is accurate. A separate name-search delisting assessment may also be relevant. If a request is refused, ask for the reason and consider the options explained by your data protection authority.
Read the source guidance
Explore directory requests or read about Google delisting.
