Our mission

Your information deserves context.

An old address. A former role. Someone else’s details attached to your name. You deserve a clearer view of what is visible—and what you can do about it.

The person behind the information

A name is not the whole person.
A record is not the whole story.

A public record can be accurate and still leave something important unsaid: that a role ended, an address changed, or the person sharing your name is someone else.

When information moves, context does not always move with it. An old detail can become a current impression. A possible match can start to look like a fact.

You should be able to understand the information that describes you—and the choices available when it needs attention.

That is why Nomelys exists. To make public exposure understandable, help people document what is wrong and support appropriate action. A clearer picture is valuable even when the right next step is to do nothing.

Information travels

Scattered records.
One answer about you.

An article, an old directory entry and a professional profile may tell separate parts of a life. AI search can assemble material from several pages into one response. The connections it makes deserve their own scrutiny.

We care about the person behind the match, the date behind the claim and the source behind the sentence.

An AI-generated answer
Someone forms an impression.

What research helps us understand

An answer can be read.
Its sources may not be.

This is one reason context matters where an answer appears—not only on the page behind it.

Confidence is not verification.

A Tow Center experiment found errors in more than 60% of 1,600 news-identification queries across eight AI search tools. This was a specific citation task, not an error rate for personal biographies.

A citation still needs a closer look.

An EACL 2026 study examined source credibility and how answers were supported across 100 claims. A source link is a starting point for checking a claim.

What we stand for

Clarity is a responsibility.

Our mission means little unless it changes how a finding is checked, a request is handled and an outcome is explained.

01 / Identity

A shared name is not proof.

A person must not inherit someone else's history because two records look similar. Possible matches stay separate from verified findings.

02 / Context

The date belongs with the fact.

A former role should be understood as a former role. Accurate history and incorrect current claims call for different responses.

03 / Evidence

Uncertainty should stay visible.

An unavailable source is not an empty source. An incomplete check is not a clean bill of health. A useful report makes the gaps understandable.

04 / Action

Every request needs a reason.

We support proportionate, documented action. We do not promise to suppress accurate history, erase AI training data or control another organisation's decision.

05 / Outcomes

A request sent is not a change made.

Submission, acknowledgement and verification are separate events. Refusals and pending decisions belong in the record too.

06 / Choice

Understanding should come before commitment.

Choose the level of help that fits your situation. Keep control of the scope, the next step and optional monitoring. A finding should inform your decision, not manufacture urgency.

Where action can happen

One correction.
Several places to recheck.

Information does not move through a single switch. Different destinations need different checks and, sometimes, different requests.

A documented issueConfirm the person, source and context.

At the publisher

A correction or removal request concerns the original page.

In search results

An outdated excerpt or eligible delisting request follows a separate route.

In an AI answer

Recheck the recorded prompt. Assess available source or platform reporting options.

Verify each change. Keep unresolved items visible.

These routes are possibilities, not guaranteed remedies or a promise that every route is included in a package.
